Interested in being a Homie's Homie???

I just wanna say that being a Homie's Homie back in April was a great experience! The best part was interacting with the partygoers and seeing their reactions to Homie. I mean, imagine walking down the street at two in the morning, most likely intoxicated, with all your friends and BAM! There's a talking house!! After realizing that they were not delirious or hallucinating off drugs, the students had different ways of reacting towards Homie, some more accepting than others. Occasionally, you'd have those obnoxious few who would yell hostile things at Homie or try to give him a hard time, but Homie's Homies can help tame that. For the most part, the partygoers were very curious. Slowly, they would approach the house and be like, "what the hell?" Before they would ask too many questions, I would prompt them to go up on the podium and talk to Homie, and of course they're like, "what? i can talk to him??" Once Homie starts up a conversation with them, it's very apparent that they love the limelight and are getting a kick out of actually talking to a house. And not only are they enjoying it, but they're engaging in valuable conversations about drinking and partying, for as it's explained, Homie has a drinking problem and wants advice. After Homie attracts a crowd of people in his yard, which doesn't take that long, the conversation can sometimes turm into a group dialogue between Homie, the person on the podium, and the rest of the partygoers in the yard. As a Homie's Homie, I was able to get a lot of people involved and was able to meet a lot of interesting and sometimes hilarious partygoing students that I wouldn't have met elsewhere. A lot of students were fascinated by the installation and asked me a lot of questions about Homie and Chris, the man behind the curtain. In addition to mingling and facilitating, I got to make over one hundred peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (whew! check out the pics!) that I handed out to partygoers along with water. The students were pleasantly surprised to say the least to recieve a beverage and food for FREE, especially after having another party-filled, exhausting night. I also helped out by taking pictures of the event and setting up equipment. Of course, a Homie's Homie isn't required to do all of these things, but it's hard to stop once you start. Plus, one day Chris and Homie will be famous, so you better get involved now while you can smiling smiley I'll definitley do it again. Oh yeah, and did I mention that you get an awesome Homie's Homie t-shirt for free?? Yeah!
